About Our Blazer Lines We focus on five key Blazer breeding lines that typically produce conformation and temperament traits that we want to perpetuate in the breed. We've chosen these lines for their consistent performance and results as well as for practical purposes - they result in the kinds of horses that can do what we like to do with horses. Blaze's Rags (The Rags Line)
Our own stallion and the son of the Foundation Sire, Little Blaze (F-1.) Rags consistently produces horses with a compact, stout and strong conformation. He has a calm, willing and gentle temperament and he passes it on to his get. Rags horses make great work and trail horses because they are calm, level headed, hard working and built tough. Rags throws his palomino coloring about 70% of the time and the line sees a good amount of black horses. Blaze's Asset (The Asset Line)
Asset is the son of the Foundation Sire, Little Blaze (F-1.) He consistently produces horses with a well balanced, strong-barrelled, powerhouse conformation. Asset is a reasonable, focused and hardworking horse that passes his level-headed temperament on to his get. Asset horses make great work and trail horses because they learn fast and have a steady, hard working and enduring attitude toward any task. Asset horses run the gamut in coloring, usually set by the dam.
Sleepy's BB (The Sleepy/BB Line)
Sired by Blaze's Sleepy (pictured), the son of the Foundation Sire, Little Blaze (F-1), Sleepy's BB was quick, agile, streamlined and full of spirit (if not prankster charm.) BB horses are flashy, high spirited and able to make quick starts, hard stops and lots of fast turns, in between. BB horses do well in speed events and jumping. Since they love being the center of attention and have tons of energy, they love to compete! The line sees a lot of dun and buckskin coloring. Straight Shot McGee (The McGee Line)
"Mac" is the grandson of the Foundation Stallion, Little Blaze (F-1) with Bobbie McGee as his granddam on both sire's and dam's sides. McGee has an impressive, trademark stance - the silhouette of which is unmistakeable. Horses of this line are well-withered, with solid feet, formidable shoulders and powerful hindquarters that make thesm especially well suited for cow work. And that's a good thing - because the McGee's are indeed some 'cowy' horses! Bay coloring dominates the McGee line.
 Crooked River (The River Line)
Crooked River is the great-grandson of the Foundation Stallion, Little Blaze. On his dam's side is Sylvia, a beautiful mustang mare that put a lot of spirit into her foals. River horses are light on their feet, quick, very agile and exceptionally fluid in their movement - graceful athleticism. River himself is a handsome grullo stallion with powerful, driving hindquarters capable of great impulsion. He passes his well balanced, well muscled conformation on to his get. Black, dun and grullo coloring show up often in the River line. |
